What happens with this is that when a user receives an e-mail with one of
the selected extensions that you have setup in the rules file, IMail
attempts to forward the e-mail to a mailbox file with the name indicated at
the end of the line, in your case "virus", instead of the normal "main"
mailbox file. What this means is that you have to make this "virus" file a
forwarding file, e.g. virus.fwd, and then create this forwarding file in
each user's folder in the IMail directory. In the forwarding file, enter the
e-mail address of an account where you want everything to go.

My setup is similar to yours, however, my forwarding destination is
:virusbox. In each user's folder I have created a file called
"virusbox.fwd", with the contents of each being "[EMAIL PROTECTED]".
Each user's folder? you ask. Yes. There is an inexpensive utility called
IMFilter available at http://www.microneil.com/imfilter.html which you can
use to populate each folder automatically.

Subject: [IMail Forum] Rules and Info Manager Help

I am currently trying to set up rules for filtering emails using IMail 6.05.
I have managed to set up the filters and keep emails with unwanted
attachments from my user's mail boxes. However, I am unable to get an
auto-response from information manager to work. Here is an example of a
rule used:

B~(begin 6.*\.bat\s|begin 6.*\.vbx\s|begin 6.*\.shs\s):virus

I have set up a user named virus and enabled info manager. I have tested
this account by sending an email directly to it. The information manager
works as desired when mail is sent directly to it. However, It seems the
rule is not forwarding the mail to the virus account.

Does anyone have any ideas where I am going wrong?
