As I said, SMTP AUTH has nothing to do with the open relay. But when you do
"relay for addresses", clients have to use SMTP AUTH to send mail.

Rasmus, are you sure, that you gave the right answer to Murrays question.

With abuse.net you can test open mail-relays no matter what mail-client you
use.

You need SMTP AUTH enabled. If not, your users can't authenticate to your
server. Has nothing to do with the open relay though. The settings you
mention should result in a closed relay, unless you put the abuse.net IP in
there :-)

hey all,

i thought i had closed the open-relay on
my IMAIL but according to the abuse.net
tool, I have not.

here's my settings... can anyone tell me
what i'm doing wrong?

* SMTP set to only relay mail for a couple
  of IP addresses only
* Disable SMTP VRFY checked
* Disable SMTP AUTH checked
