Anti-Virus problem Hi: As a corporate policy we block all .exe files. We use Declude and after consulting with Scott he suggested we add the following lines in the Declude virus.cfg file. BANEXT exe BANEXT eml We added the BANEXT eml after we found out how Nimda propagates. We have not seen any problems with the virus. The one thing you need to be aware of with Banning the exe files is Declude does not send you a warning that it has blocked it. It simply rejects it and you will never know. We are told that the future versions of Declude will have that notification. We don't have any rules for our users and HIGHLY recommend blocking all .exe files. It goes without saying that Office 2000 users with SP2 and Office XP users can not receive or send .exe files to start with so why not block it at the server as a corporate policy. Hope this helps... Anti-Virus problem Hi, We run iMail 6.06, Declude and F-Prot. We update AV def files. A client just called and they have a W32.Magistr.39921@MM variant running through their offices. Their mail is hosted on our server as a virtual domain. I added a manual rule to rules.ima as Ipswitch tech article suggests: B~name=".*\.exe":NUL It does not stop .exe files. More importantly, I noticed F-Prot's latest def file is 9/22??? Seems terribly out of date to me. Other ISPs are catching this virus. We are not. Can someone advise how to stop the .exe files with a rule, and give Declude/F-Prot assistance? Ipswitch has not been reachable.
