If you're using a firewall, is port 26 open?

well, mail clients by default will attempt to check smtp mail on port 25, if
you have imail using port 26, you need to change the client to check for
mail on port 26 instead of the default 25, currenlty the client is asking
the server on port 25, where is my mail, and the server isn't
answering-or-the server says you don't have any mail here, so, have the
client check on port 26, not sure where that is at in eudora though.

We are using Ipswitch iMail Server v6.0.2.362. Mail clients on workstations
are Eudora 5.0 and 5.1.
We are configuring F-Secure Total Suite, which includes F-Secure Policy
Manager - and F-Secure Content Scanner -servers,
both products are running on separate, dedicated servers. On iMail -server
(also separate, third sever in this scenario) we configured F-Secure
Anti-Virus for Internet Mail. This agent runs on background, and listens
TCP/IP -port number 25 and sends output to port 26. How do we change SMTP
-port number on iMail Server, by editing registry? Should we add port 26 in
/winnt/systen32/drivers/etc/services -file ? When changing value in
HLKM/System/CurrentControlSet/Services/SMTPD32/Parameters from 25(19hex) to
26(1Ahex) the whole mail system became unreachable, mail clients couldnt
connect to mailserver. What went wrong ?

Best regards
