sorry, i don't have an answer for as to why it works off/on, unless possibly the server gets to busy and doesn't catch the msg before it gets thru the queue, but on the side of the first colon, i don't have it in any of my rules and they all seem to be working, or maybe i'm just not getting any of those messages that i blocked anymore. hmmm.

Isn't the first colon needed to separate an external rule file? And why would it work off and on ? -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Don Weber Sent: Tuesday, November 13, 2001 12:42 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: [IMail Forum] Filtering by headers i don't think you need the first colon H~spam_header:nul i'm not really sure if you can send to nul, but i haven't tried it myself either. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Cris Porter Sent: Friday, November 09, 2001 10:40 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [IMail Forum] Filtering by headers Am I filtering this correctly? My rule is H~:spam_hdr:NUL My spam_hdr.rul file contains tons of (spam topics|spam senders|etc) Won't this check both the from field and the subject against the contents of the spam_hdr.rul file ? It seems to work sporadically. Cris Porter JVC America Please visit http://www.ipswitch.com/support/mailing-lists.html to be removed from this list.
