read this kb, and basically anything older than a week i'd get rid of
actually to clear up my spool dir, i created a log archive directory and moved all my log files to that, then what was left over were just a few various files, mainly the smd type, i got rid of anything older than 7 days, pretty much according to this kb article

Subject: [IMail Forum] Extraneous files and what to do with them

I have some extraneous files and don't know what to do with them.

imail\spool\*.smd, the last one created October 30th.  My queue appears as empty and up to date.
imail\spool\web\*.tmp, the lst one created September 4th.
imail\spool\web\various extentions that look like attachments that should/could have been sent.

Can they be safely deleted? If not, how do I bring them back into the system for processing?

Alan
