We had an outbreak today (the new "Goner" worm) where some users said
infected SCR attachments got past the rules on our IMail server. These were
regional offices so I haven't seen evidence yet. I checked the account where
I direct all mail with illegal attachments. It had 202 messages. At 55k
each, that would put the total size over my 10MB limit. I wondered; if that
account gets full and new mail with an illegal attachment arrives, will the
server send back a message about "mailbox full", or might it go ahead and
deliver the infected mail to the original addressee? I know it sounds
unlikely, with "virusbox" forwarding set up on all my users. But I'd rather
raise the question in this list first, than hear it in a staff meeting.
Didn't find this in the knowledgebase.
