That's the first I've heard of anti-spam databases testing servers in response to a request. >We have relaying secured, but sure enough, all of a sudden we started >having problems on a couple of these servers we had never had problems >with. In other words, you had problems with these servers that you didn't know about until now. > In both of these cases, all of a sudden we're getting reports from >clients that email they are sending is getting returned with a message that >the return address was rejected by a recipient mail server. Unfortunately, >I can't tell from the messages which list these ISP's/hosting companies may >be using. You'll need to contact them, and find out what the problem is. If they aren't accepting your mail based on the return address, they may be blacklisting your domain or the individual users' E-mail addresses -- but in either case, that wouldn't have happened as a result of the spam database lookups. The only known domain name spam databases are at http://www.rfc-ignorant.org , and they won't add you unless there is a specific problem with your domain. Those aren't tested with the automated IP testers, so this sounds like a problem that isn't related to you entering those IPs. >I've ran these IP's again and they still aren't showing up on any listings. >But the problems with rejected emails are increasing. Anyone have any ideas >on what might be the cause of this? It may well be unrelated. Do you have any large mailing lists that some people might have signed up for, but forgotten about? That might get you on individual blacklists at some mailservers. -Scott --- Declude: Anti-virus, Anti-spam and Anti-hijacking solutions for IMail. http://www.declude.com --- [This E-mail was scanned for viruses by Declude Virus (http://www.declude.com)] Please visit http://www.ipswitch.com/support/mailing-lists.html to be removed from this list.
