Is the server more stressed now than before? We had this problem too, it seemed to coincide with having added more users and all those users banging on the server pretty hard.

Subject: [IMail Forum] SMTP AUTH Problem When Sending

Hi

I am currently running IMAIL version 6.04 - 2000.06.14.466

I have never had any problems with it until now. All users use either Outlook or Outlook Express and connect using either POP3 or IMAP. They have been connecting for months without any problems.

It has suddenly started asking random user to reenter their usernames and passwords to send mail. We have SMTP AUTH swithched on and always have. They reenter their details and it asks again then if they leave it for some time it all works fine again.

I thought it may be a license problem but I have counted up the number of users and it falls short of the 250 mark.

Any thoughts would be appreciated

Myles
