The posters.lst works to the extent that a subset of the list members can post to the list. I have a list with about 40 members, and I only want three of them to be able to post. I have myself (one of the three) as the list owner, set the "only moderator may post to list", and have the 3 addresses/names in the posters.lst. Other posters get a "denied" message when they try to post.
I haven't ever tried to allow non members to post.
