the local NetBios name you give the box really doesn't matter much for
Internet Mail Servers. Email is routed via MX records to an IP.  As long as
Mr. Mercury has ESMTP ears listening on port 25, all is well.  The Internet
DNS system may know him as mail.todhunger.com or smtp.todhunter.com or
whatever the A record shows (and that should be in a reverse too, btw).

For example, my server named MUSKOX is known on the internet as
lists2.texasstar.net at 64.38.202.124.  No one cares or even knows what I
named that box. NetBios isn't even on.
