We had a Sportster 28.8 FAX Modem in one of our mail servers. Every time we
tried to send a fax out with it the receiving fax machine would start to
receive then shoot out a error code of 138.

We then tried a real old 14.4 Fax Modem and we can now send a max of 2
pages. anything more gives the same 138 error. But works flawless with 1 or
2 page faxes.

So we live with it. Fortunately we only need to send out 1 page faxes.
