If I understand correctly, Thomas wants to send SMS's based on incoming email messages (not the other way round).
I do SMS-ing using IMail Mail-to-Fax option. Just create an Alias of the type Pager/Beeper. The only drawback is that you cannot use the modem for anything else than IMail (IMail sits on the port and denies acces to, e.g., RAS).
