We frequently had problems with Windows NT. I have learned from some ISPs
that they usually completely rebuild NT systems every 6 months (reformat
the drive and reload everything from scratch). Defragmenting the drive
(you have to use a 3rd party defrag program since MS didn't provide one
since "you don't need it" - ha!). You can't load anything on NT without
ending up with fragmented files.

In my opinion, the better answer is upgrade to Windows 2000. But there I
would recommend start with a fresh drive and Install rather than upgrade.
The upgrade CD will do a fresh install if you have something for it to look
at to confirm an existing Windows NT (install disk/cd should do it).

We have had VERY little problem with the "blue screen of death" with
Windows 2k. On our development server we DO see it because we are always
doing strange stuff there and loading software from various sources. But
it is nothing like we had with Windows NT.
