fix it... I was working remotely on the server, nipped to my office where
the machine is a the firewall had sent me msg's say that there was problem..
turns out I had only allowed smtp one way :-) I hold my head in shame for
not checking such a basic thing..

Ryan,

Many times this is an indication of DSN resolution issues.

Try solving by putting the domain name and ip in the HOSTS file.
