for those that tries to help yesterday, it was not the firewall -
FYI - I am upgrading from 6.06 to 7.06. Connecting from the outside to the SMTP server produces a "connection refused error". The problem started immediately after installing the latest security patch update (the cumulative one) for Windows 2000 server. Prior to that everything was fine. We immediately uninstalled the patch but it did not solve our problem. The SMTP connection is constantly being reset trying to connect from the outside. The Microsoft IIS SMTP srvice works fine on port 25. Telnet to port 25 on localhost works fine, and Telnet to external IP from inside works. Just cannot get it to work for the outside. Very desperate to get this up so any help would greatly be appreciated. >From: Sanford Whiteman <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >Reply-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] >To: michael davis <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >Subject: Re[4]: [IMail Forum] really need some help re "connection >terminated by fore >Date: Sat, 2 Mar 2002 19:05:28 -0500 > >Got a firewall that does SMTP proxying?
