And that's a problem how? Living in Whitehorse, Yukon. Almost everything we buy is online or mail order. Courier's can get stuff from almost anywhere to you in 2 days if you really need it.

The only way to get/try out other brands is online or mail order. -Norm -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of John Tolmachoff Sent: Friday, March 08, 2002 1:38 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: [IMail Forum] Firewalls This is not the first time that Marc has tried that ploy on this forum. I was trying to be nice about it. Besides, I would be much more comfortable dealing www.firewalls.com. The owner was very helpful when I had a problem on a Friday night and could not get a hold of any one at Sonicwall. Sonicwall MAKES the 3com OfficeConnect firewall as well as the NetGear under contract. I have confirmed that by both 3com and Sonicwall. John Tolmachoff IT Manager Network Engineer 211 E. Just do a "whois" lookup. All that nonsense aside, we use the SonicWall or the NetGear for our SOHO sites and the Netscreen 10 for our co-lo. We really don't have any major complaints. Each one has neat features and each one is always missing something. For example, the NetGear Firewall/Router FR314 has a nice web-based GUI for administration, but we haven't figured out how to get traffic statistics. We can only get emailed alerts and logs of connections and packets that were filtered out. The SonicWalls we've used actually have the exact same interface. Just a different logo in the upper left-hand corner. For the Netscreens, we run a scheduled process to download the logs into a database for each service/port. Then, we use ASP/ASPChart to graph out stats per service/port. The Netscreen web-based GUI has graphs, but they generate too slowly to be of any use to us. Since we didn't get any extra memory for the FW, the stats also get overwritten. -Norm Please visit http://www.ipswitch.com/support/mailing-lists.html to be removed from this list.
