Within the last couple of days two of my customers have reported similar problems logging on to our pop3 imail server and I'm not making any headway in troubleshooting.
We are talking about two domains hosted on the same server. One of them has over 30 users using Outlook (the one in Office XP) and one of those users gets 'cannot connect' error messages whenever trying to check for mail. However, when I set him up to use Outlook Express as a temporary fix it works fine. None of the other users is having a problem. I've done all the usual troubleshooting on their workstation including reinstalling, verifying settings, putting the IP address of the mail domain in the incoming field, etc. etc.
The other user has Outlook 2000 and the symptoms are identical. Also there I got a temp solution with OE6. However both want to go back to Outlook.
Are there known issues between Outlook and Imail I might not be aware of, or should I be assuming this a Microsoft/Outlook problem and nothing to do with our mail server and Imail pop3?
Thanks,
Tor
