FYI, we've noticed an increase lately of bounces on our mailing lists from mailservers that have a backup mailserver listed in their MX record that doesn't accept their mail. We can't notify people when this happens without hard coding their IP in our hosts file, which is a lot to ask.
That is much worse than having just one MX record. With multiple MX records, if one of them doesn't accept your mail, E-mail to your domain will bounce with a "no such user" message. If you are a business (as opposed to an ISP), people may think that you've gone out of business. Imaging sending an E-mail to "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" and having it bounce?
