This indicates some sort of connectivity issue, that the firewall *could* 
be causing.  But:

This shows that mail got to AOL without a problem.

To get mail out, you don't need to open ANY incoming ports on the 
firewall.  To get mail out, only outgoing packets are used (to port 25, and 
possibly 53 for DNS).  If your firewall is blocking outgoing packets, you 
may need to experiment a bit.
