Yeah, right. I run bind on Linux and W2K and also run MS DNS on NT4.0 and
W2k, and I can tell you first hand that MS DNS on NT4.0 and W2K is far, far
simpler for a novice user to install, learn, and maintain then is bind on
Linux, NT or W2K.

Sharyn:

I guess "OT Friday" is like "Casual Friday," so...

You don't have to use MS DNS on Win2k. Bind for NT works very well on Win2k
and is easy to download, install, configure and maintain.

1.) Buy and read "DNS and Bind" from link on Len's site
http://bind8nt.meiway.com
2.) Download and install Bind for NT from: http://www.isc.org

Good luck!

A bit off topic, but since Len thinks you are all expert DNS people..and
we know Len is always right :)..

I am looking for some good resources on migrating my nt4.0 DNS to win2k
DNS. My situation is a bit complicated (not going to waste everyone's
time here explaining in detail)so it would probably be useful to me to
actually type at someone with firsthand experience doing this.

After reading the massive amounts of non-helpful MS documentation, I'm
thinking a few good user groups would help me out more.

Suggestions?

Thanks!
