Greetings, I'm coming in a little late on this thread -- been away from the keyboard for a couple of days -- but I was the one who wrote about the draft/forwarding bug initially in January 2001 (please see http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/msg29148.html and subsequent messages). This resulted in Ipswitch adding a Knowledge Base article (http://support.ipswitch.com/kb/IM-20010123-DM02.htm) and a paragraph in the IMail Server 7 manual (http://www.ipswitch.com/support/IMail/guide/imailug7/usermaila7.html) to explain the issue.
Unfortunately, it seems that some people are still struggling with this feature/bug and Ipswitch did not offer an explicit workaround, as far as I know. However, Sanford Whiteman offered a perfectly good one last Thursday: http://www.mail-archive.com/imail_forum%40list.ipswitch.com/msg50751.html and I hope that the Ipswitch folks who are reading this list will include it in the aforementioned KB article and a future revision of the User Manual. Combining the use of MAIN.FWD with disallowing hyphens in user names (for security reasons) should solve the entire issue.
