I patched our i-mail server up to 7.06 HF2 a week ago and have come accross
a pop3 timeout issue. Many of our customers are receiving the following
error:

our server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for
this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of
inactivity. Account: 'mindinfo.com', Server: 'mindinfo.com', Protocol: SMTP,

Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F

Normally I would associate this with modem troubles or connectivity issues,
but we've had a tech support wave come through this week regarding this
issue and we've tested several of our customers modem connections and found
them to be working properly. I don't think this is related to large
attachments as the accounts had only a few small e-mail msgs. The modem
connections with the users were also tested and had good connectivity. This
has happened with a large portion of our customer base since the last
service patch was applied: 7.06 2002.03.06.8 is the version number listed
under Imail Administrator. I'm wondering if i should reapply the hot fix
II, or if anyone else has any suggestions or insights, please feel free to
dump them on me.

Here are the pop3 configurations:

Checked:
Enable XTND XMIT command
Auto-deny possible hack attempts

Unchecked:
Use APOP
Allow remote password change

I'm currently logging to file: SYSMMDD.txt with debugging on (this is as of
today). The control access is setup to allow all users to connect except
for those listed and I don't have anyone listed. I can supply other
information if needed.
