Yeah, that's exactly what I said to my boss! I said, why can't we just create an alias that point to the old domain? He told me that it won't be clean or something like that. He's a tough guy to please.
So, without using aliases, how should I go about doing this? Do any of you Imail expertees know where the actual list of domain names and domain aliases is stored? It is not just the registry. Renaming the domain key in the registry by itself does not work. You'll see the change in IMail Administrator, but you won't be able to access your user or send mails to the domain. I suppose that "renaming a domain" is not something ipswitch want us to do, since they don't allow you to do it in the Administrator or through the adddomain.exe program. I guess I can just tell my boss that he can stuff it and either a) create an alias when a domain name needs to be change or b) create a new domain and transfer all the info over ... yeah?
