Microsoft has a workaround at http://support.microsoft.com/directory/article.asp?ID=KB;EN-US;Q142676 -- setting the third value in the ShareSection piece to 256 or raising it to 2048 should be very helpful (Microsoft recommends lowering it, which *should* help, but several people have mysteriously had better results by raising it -- one of the problems with Microsoft having undocumented resources!).
