I use Imail server on my web server to handle the email needs of my website
(a parenting website), such as sending newsletters, etc. I use a Perl CGI
script to send my newsletters, kind of like Subscribe Me Pro, and would like
to use the Imail server logs a little more.

I especially would like to figure out:

1) is hotmail blocking my emails? One regular visitor with a hotmail email
account says that she no longer receives my newsletters or any mail directly
from my server (such as notification from my discussion forums). Can
looking at the log help me figure out what is going on with this? What in
the logs would indicate I was being blocked or do they usually just trash
those emails on their end?

2) how to find email addresses that no longer work? Ideally I would write
a Perl script to check the log and write bad email addresses to another
file. Once it had 2 or 3 entries on separate days, I would then unsubscribe
that email address. Does such a script or program to process the logs
exist? Is there something on the same line of the email address that I
could search for that would show that the email didn't go through?

Thanks for any help or direction to a site that explains how to understand
the Imail logs a little more.

I know (or think) that using the mailing list functions of Imail could
automate these things a little, but I otherwise like the way I am sending my
newsletters and would like to continue without switching to a mailing list.
