That is correct the mail guard as Len has stated will not work with SMTP
AUTH. As you stated early RFC 821 is it when using mail guard but since
you are not using SMTP AUTH I can't see the problem. If I remember
correctly we had it on for a short time untill we went with SMTP AUTH.
As far as ESMTP try these RFC 1891 1651 or Google it. Also I did look at
Ipswitch KB and there is some mention of ESMTP.

Does this mean that you are NOT using the SMTP fixup feature?  We use
Declude HiJack so we don't have to admin using SMTP Auth.  If we aren't
using SMTP Auth does Imail use any other ESMTP commands for normal
operation?
