Spam and virus protection don't come cheap (see http://www.lyris.com/products/mailshield/software/prices.html for an idea; most SMTP-based AV programs don't list their prices, because they are so high). Our Declude (and/or Len's IMGate) are bargains compared to most (all?) of the alternatives, costing in the order of just 10% of what the competition does. Going down to the 1% range may be possible, but you may need to see if there is a reason the programs are so cheap (IE a desktop virus scanner that will catch some viruses in mailboxes, but will delete the entire mailbox when it finds them; a spam program that occasionally loses E-mail if it crashes...). If you can't afford our software (and/or don't have a spare machine or two for IMGate), you might want to consider using IMail's filters. There are a number of people here who use them to help block spam and viruses, and the cost is limited to the time it takes to update them (and learn the nuances of filters, so you don't end up sending half your E-mail to the bit bucket). -Scott --- Declude: Anti-virus, Anti-spam and Anti-hijacking solutions for IMail. http://www.declude.com --- [This E-mail was scanned for viruses by Declude Virus (http://www.declude.com)] Please visit http://www.ipswitch.com/support/mailing-lists.html to be removed from this list.
