Thanks guys - absolutely right. I hadn't added the extra fields to the user table in 
the Access database (hadn't done the 7.0 or 7.1 fields - oops!) In case anyone else 
tries this with Access, make sure you apply the default values yourself to old records 
since Access doesn't retrospectively apply default values to old records like 
SQLServer does. Had me confused for a while why I couldn't get into Web Calendaring...
