On of our clients working from home today is having problems with Web
Messaging.
He can log on ok, but when he goes to read mail, he is kicked off.
When he tried to compose a message, it kicked him off.
When he gets kicked off, he can not log on for about 15 minutes.
He can browse the Internet fine.

I use satellite connectivity at home too. Unfortunately, the fine folks at
Direct PC/Way, skewed the reliability and 'actual' latency issues with this
technology. Bottom line - Sat Com for internet use is very poor and should
never be considered 'broadband' or 'always on'. If it's raining in New York
or overcast and cloudy at your clients location the link fails miserably. I
have done everything imaginable and then some to improve on satellite
connectivity and the best it will do is near T1 download (1492) and about
the speed of dialup on the uplink. Their NOC caps the upstream to 40 which
I guess is to control the burden of power consumption at the satellite
itself. My 'best guess' at your question is that because of the higher
latency, from earth to orbit/orbit to earth (EOE), the client side computer
request are overlapping at the server. Oh, and when you/they do an actual
'speed test', of the connection, make sure they delete the cached web page
before they have you run it again. http://www.dslreports.com/stest is a
very good reliable testing site.
