Have you tried to use ascii codes? If you enter an <alt> 255, (which is a space). People try to be clever about these things. Also you may want to check your attributes on the files and directories. Your post wasn't clear on the error you get when you try to del the files. Last, you can't delete a directory with files in it, (unless you use deltree command). Try going into windows explorer to delete them.
