I posted this message about a month ago and never got any feedback. I realize it's not the end of the world but would be interested to hear from anyone who is experiencing this.
Thanks, Guy ----- Original Message ----- From: Guy Isabel Subject: [IMail Forum] "Cosmetic" problem in Web-based admin? Date: Fri, 17 May 2002 09:52:19 -0700 Running 7.07; checked KB and archives... When IWEBMSG is stopped, then restarted using "NET STOP" and "NET START" commands, either directly at the server console or via a program alias, the service is indeed restarted but the Web-based IMail Administrator (on port 8181) incorrectly displays Web Messaging as being "DOWN" (red). The main login page (on port 8383) displays just fine and everything seems to work normally. If I log in to :8181 and go to "Service Administration", "WEB" is associated with a "START" hyperlink. Clicking on "START" makes the status change to "UP" (green). But, as far as I can tell, Web Messaging was indeed running even while its status was reported as "DOWN". Is this purely a cosmetic issue or is there something else that happens when I click "START" and that I don't know about?
