Tony, I think your already in viololation of the licensing. You need a CAL for just mentioning SQL server. :-)

See: http://www.microsoft.com/sql/howtobuy/servercal.asp http://www.microsoft.com/sql/howtobuy/multiplexing.asp "Use of such multiplexing, pooling, or related hardware and/or software does not reduce the number of CALs required for SQL Server. Regardless of how many tiers of hardware or software exist between the SQL Server and the client devices that ultimately use its data, services, or functionality, a CAL is required for each distinct input to the multiplexing, pooling, or related software or the hardware front end. Processor licensing will likely be the appropriate licensing option in these situations, due to its simplicity and affordability. " Basically, if I'm reading this correct, this means that you need 1 cal for each Imail user you have. In laymans terms "We would rather you just spend more money with Microsoft now, and buy a processor license, as even walking by the server in the next room will require a CAL". This IS quite different than, say, the Windows 2000 server licensing, which requires a CAL only for those who are directly connecting using file/print type services - each unique IIS visitor doesn't need it's own CAL. - Tony >-----Original Message----- >From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] >[mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Jason Newland >Sent: Friday, June 21, 2002 2:17 PM >To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] >Subject: Re: [IMail Forum] SQL SVR licencing with IMail > > >Sounds like they are up to their old ways again.
