John what is it you are trying to do? Just asking because we do this the following way:
We are a K-12 school district that use the LDAP piece of IMail. Each employee has their school assignment(s) set in LDAP. I have a batch file that I schedule nightly that reads through the LDAP database and recreates the group alias file for each school based on the school assignments for our employees. This allows us to have a group alias called west (for one of our schools) that contains all employees assigned to west elementary. Works great for us. I did have to initially create the group in IMail but then I just update the file referenced there with the new entries... hope this helps... bob On Thursday, June 27, 2002 12:22 PM, John Bentley <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: >Well, duh - thanks. > >What about creating groups from the command line? > > >-----Original Message----- >From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] >[mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] On Behalf Of Sanford >Whiteman >Sent: Thursday, June 27, 2002 2:19 AM >To: John Bentley >Subject: Re: [IMail Forum] Command line for adding to groups? > > >> Does anyone know of a way/product/utility to add users to >> groups/lists from the command line? > >echo [EMAIL PROTECTED] >> mylist.lst > >:)) > >-Sandy > > >Please visit http://www.ipswitch.com/support/mailing-lists.html >to be removed from this list. > >An Archive of this list is available at: >http://www.mail-archive.com/imail_forum%40list.ipswitch.com/ > >Please visit the Knowledge Base for answers to frequently asked >questions: http://www.ipswitch.com/support/IMail/ > > >Please visit http://www.ipswitch.com/support/mailing-lists.html >to be removed from this list. > >An Archive of this list is available at: >http://www.mail-archive.com/imail_forum%40list.ipswitch.com/ > >Please visit the Knowledge Base for answers to frequently asked >questions: http://www.ipswitch.com/support/IMail/ > Please visit http://www.ipswitch.com/support/mailing-lists.html to be removed from this list.
