I work in a K-12 School System and we have tested many different hardware and software filters. The one that seemed to benefit us is CYBlock- It works on a proxy server, which usually means if the filter is out so is the internet service. Hardware devices usually let the internet traffic go through untouched if the filter is down, and in my case that was a catastrophe as students were able to view sites by crashing the filter. But the main reason that we like it, is because it allows me as an admin to print out detailed reports to each department leader on a scheduled basis. It puts the reports in bar graph form using color coding to easily spot misuse. You have full control over labeling good and bad. So not only do you get a filtering device you get an outstanding reporting tool. The filter also allows you as the admin to individually set use parameters so that if your boss wishes to look at sports and porn but doesnt want Silly Sally or Rantin Rob to across the hall you can make it happen. Its worth a look and really not that ex pensive for what you get. Go to http://www.cyfin.com and get the demo or call and ask for Eleanor tell her Allen from Walker County sent you. They are wonderful people reminds me of Scott over at declude when I have problems they are always there for me. Allen
