I am not sure where you read that but Imail allows you to specify subnets for mail relaying.

Subject: [IMail Forum] Mail Relay

I need iMail 7.11 to relay mail from a list of local hosts, including several large subnets.  However, iMail's SMTP configuration says that it will not accept wild cards or partial matches of host names.  Is there any way to build a list of subnets as valid local hosts for iMail without generating a list of every individual ip address in the 10.0.0.0 subnet?
