The reason we use iMAIL is because of the command line tools which made it a piece of cake to automate anything in imail. We never use the GIU to addusers (sometimes when I am forced to do it for some reason I forget how).
Use the tools to create your own automation. It's more flexible that way versus a predeveloped package that you may not have source code for and then you won't be able to modify it.
