Sorry I actually didn't realize that this may be OT.
I don't have any VPN Clients configured on my machine.

I have no connection to this person except through a client using IMail.
It is one of her clients she e-mails using her IMail account.

So I thought that somehow IMail was doing something to check to resend
the bounced mail.

a) Is the fw address the same as the MX for that domain?

b) Do you have any IPSec settings in your network setup, or any
third-party VPN shim installed?

c) Are you dynamic-NATting outgoing mail (i.e., are you sure this is
your mail server's doing, and not another internal client?)

d) Does your fw have/support encryption domains?

e) Do your IMail logs show an outgoing connection that is consistent
with their fw logs?

The bottom line is that this is OT, as IMail does not have any
internal mechanism for bringing up an IPSec connection before
connecting to a remote server. Not that we don't want to help, but it
simply has to be occuring at the Win2K or third-party VPN level.
