I've got it set to 20 minutes, 75 tries.

No real drawbacks with that small a volume.  No real benefits either,
15 vs. 30 would mean worst case it goes out 15 minutes later.  If 15
minutes is a big deal they should be using the phone.

Whilst on the subject of queue timings, I wish IMail had an option to
send a "I haven't been able to deliver it yet" message like some other
servers do.

Getting notice that it hasn't gone out yet offers the opportunity to
use some other media if the message was important.  Of course some
say if its important/critical you shouldn't be using email in the
first place :-)
