I'm experimenting with implementing IMAP4. My purpose is two-fold: 1) For my personal use - I want to share mail amongst devices (PDA) / computers. 2) I want to share mail between two people (support type activities). I have successfully got an IMAP4 mailbox running, and can access it myself from three different places (Eudora, Outlook Express, and Outlook) on my machines. Plus, can access from web interface. However, I cannot get a co-worker up on that mailbox. Her machine's running Outlook Express. I've exported an Outlook Express profile to her, still no go. Coworker is on a completely different network, different location. Firewall is open on IMAP port. Using most recent imail, declude, all patches applied. She gets a login failure. Here are the lines from the log: 20020923 095244 127.0.0.1 IMAP4 (00000404) logon failure for imap4test smtp.igive.com from 192.168.1.102 20020923 095244 127.0.0.1 IMAP4 (00000404) sending "0001 NO LOGIN: Invalid userid/password " 20020923 095246 127.0.0.1 IMAP4 (00000404) logon failure for imap4test smtp.igive.com from 192.168.1.102 20020923 095246 127.0.0.1 IMAP4 (00000404) sending "0002 NO LOGIN: Invalid userid/password I'm pretty darn sure the password is correct. She's able to access from web interface, too. Since I'm a complete neophyte, I'm wondering if there isn't a hidden "gotcha" someplace that I'm overlooking? Any places to look (assume the truth that I'm ignorant, no obvious place to look should be left unsuggested)? Thanks in advance.
