I sent several emails within a 1 hour period, and 1.5 hours later, all of the emails bounced back to me "Undeliverable mail". Inside these bounced emails was the message:
Unknown host: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ...where xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx has been used to protect the innocent. Other unknow hosts were @aol.com, @verizon.net, @palm.com, @worldnet.att.net, @msn.com ...hosts that obviously exist! And the email addresses were valid, legitimate addresses. Why then would I get a rash of bounced emails with "Unknown host"? I am using Imail Server 6.06. How can I debug this? The LOG file is not the easiest thing to decipher. Which leads me to my next question... Is there some tool that will make it easier to figure out what happened to a particular email by scanning the LOG file? Or is there a cheat sheet that explains what a lot of the cryptic values represent? E.g. SMTP (1676) finished m:\spool\Q4ad7096.SMD status=1 What's a status=1? Vs. a status=2? What is a rdeliver? What are the (numbers) in brackets? Etc.
