No real time virus scanning. Have already covered the 3 IPswitch Knowledge base articles mentioned as well as many others.
The only thing that seems to remain constant is a parallel to time of day. Early am through the night things are ok. Server stats as far as processors use, memory, threads and so on are only slightly less than during the day. As the day goes on the number of delayed or refused connections increases. Times and are varied but increase through out the day till early am. Netstat shows nothing that jumps out. The only thing I have been leaning towards is something with Winsock and non paged memory though I have no proof of this.
