>Is this even more confusing? If so, I'm sorry, but it may be time for
me to call Ipswitch.

It is not more confusing, it actually explains exactly what you need to
do.

>I set up a domain, abc.com, and have set up Imail to handle it. Simple
enough.
Now, I want to have a separate email server for alumni.abc.com, but on
the same IMail server.

You set up your first domain, the default domain, in Imail as
mail.abc.com, with an alias as abc.com.

Then, set up a virtual domain called alumni.abc.com.

Probably the most important factor is DNS. (Again.)

You will need the correct A records for both abc.com, mail.abc.com and
alumni.abc.com.

>Now when I go to the mail.abc.com, I can log in, but to the mail server
that was setup for the abc.com domain.

That is because by default Imail setups up the first domain, in this
case abc.com, as mail.abc.com, as it does have to have a FQDN, which
includes a host name.
