I've noticed that I get the same error querying DNS servers once in a while from my desktop machine. I can get up and walk to an older machine with an old 10 megabit card in it, send the same query to the same machine and get no error. I really don't know if it has anything to do with it or not but if you're getting thousands of errors it may be worth a try.
