I had a problem last week using IMail 7.12, with mail bouncing back from one of the subscribers and causing the same e-mail to be sent out four times. Some people reported getting 7 or 8 copies. I called tech support, and they said that the reason it was happening was because I had set the list up to allow posts from subscribers. The knowledge base search gave me information from versions prior to 7.11, which said that setting it up to allow posts from subscribers and enable posters list would allow only the posters list to post to it. But from 7.l1 onward, this has been changed. The next newsletter goes out tomorrow, so I will find out if their advice is going to fix the problem that I had with multiple e-mails going out. I did setup a test list with the offending e-mail subscriber, and it seemed to only send out one post to the test list ok, so I am optimistic. The way that I figured out why multiple posts were being sent was by examining the headers. The first e-mail had a different header than subsequent e-mails. Other than that, the e-mails all looked identical and appeared to be sent by the same person. Have you compared the e-mail headers of the first e-mail with subsequent e-mails to the list? I made some posts about this last week, so you might search the archives for my name in that date range if you are interested. Scott helped me figure it out.
