2. If you happen to create a new domain in the meantime and it happens to grab the 
same $virtual registry key, then restoring from a previously exported reg key could 
create problems for the new domain.

You have at least two choices: (1) rename the domain, which will require
Registry editing but is otherwise straightforward, or (2) dump the domain
Registry key to a file and do delete the domain, which will allow you to
restore if in a jif should the need arise.
