Ben, I know that some versions of outlook express will do this if the
headers are not what they expect. I would suggest connect with another
email program and see if that will download it. You could try the full
outlook as that doesn't have this issue.

I've got a strange situation that maybe someone can shake me out of.

Imail 7.04

I have a user ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) on one of our mail hosts that cannot
download his mail off the server if and only if the following condition is
met:

[EMAIL PROTECTED] sends a message of any sort to anyone's e-mail address
(for example, mine). Now if I reply to his message and send it back, I can
verify the message was delivered by looking in the IMail administrator on
his account. Message is sitting there for him to download! However
[EMAIL PROTECTED] cannot download this message. Microsoft Outlook Express
5.00.2615.200 tells him server failed to connect, wait 60seconds or cancel.
He claims he cannot access the webmail either, but DNS resolution is fine on
his box. He can browse to any other Internet site, including their company
website that we host.

Here's the kicker. Without replying to his message, if I simply compose an
e-mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] and send it, he'll get it just as before, but
he WILL be able to download it in Outlook and CAN get to the webmail.

I verified his mail settings. The reply-to tag is just as it should be,
[EMAIL PROTECTED]

If his main inbox contains a message that originated from a reply off an
e-mail he sent, he cannot download any mail in Outlook Express or access the
webmail. How crazy is that? I really think his machine is just asking
stupid, but client disagrees. I have reset the POP3 service on the IMail
server in case of a glitch, but the results are the same. Anyone ever heard
of this problem? All other accounts at client.com are fine with their users.
