The big variables to document are 1) the file type and extension, 2) the
encoding method of the sending email client, 3) the file handler apps set
up on the receiving browsers, and 3) the message format of the sending
email client (plain text, html, or rich text). Rich text delivered by MS
clients is notoriously incompatible on the receiving end. Plain text
sending of .txt, .doc, .gif, .jpg, and .zip attachments should work all
the time. When you find one that's incompatible in all receiving browsers,
you should dig the raw message header and body out of the .mbx file on the
server, and send it to Ipswitch so they can reproduce the problem.
Upgrading to IMail 7.13 would also be highly recommended, although I'm not
aware of specific file attachment handling differences between that and
7.06. If you want to see if 7.13 would help things, try sending
attachments to [EMAIL PROTECTED], and then log in with "demo" and
"blue" at http://killerwebmail.com and check it out.
