That's AOL for you. They have 2 spam filters. One is very extensive, and documented at http://postmaster.info.aol.com . That one is not blocking you. The other one is also very extensive, and undocumented, and will silently delete E-mail that may be spam. That one is undocumented, and I believe AOL doesn't even admit that it exists (but it has been proven that it does). That's probably the one you are "on".I have mail list issue that I can't solve. We have a user that has a true opt in email list. Many of his 10,000 AOL list members are not receiving list mail. AOL has been contacted (ISP relations - postmaster) and they said that they are NOT blocking the mail from our SMTP server.
But, I heard from someone today that AOL is having some serious mail problems causing lots of E-mail to bounce.
Most likely, it means a timeout in the connection (indicating that the AOL mailservers have problems). It could also mean that the AOL server cut the TCP/IP connection (more likely in this case, as it doesn't appear to be timing out).Looking through the log, I have seen a very frequent occurrence of SMTP_DELIV_FAILED preceeded by "s: s". This is obviously the problem but what does "s: s" mean?
