I wanted to say thanks to Mike Barber for making this suggestion.  I put into test and it worked great.  Had both users on MSN and AOL who can now use Outlook again.

I am sure there are certain ISP’s who will block enough ports to defeat the process.

Thanks,

Dan Lott

One suggestion is to use a TCP redirect program such as trhe one at http://www.xtware.com/tcprelay/

Set it up to forward port 2525 for example to port 25 on your IMail server, this way you can have your clients use port 2525 as the smtp port and your server will relay the transmission to your imail server

Just one note

Make sure the server running this relay program is not in the relay for address list ( assuming that you use it ) and tell your clients to use SMTP Auth if they are not already

Wish ya luck...

Subject: [IMail Forum] Suggestions please!

Now that MSN has declared that they will not support connecting to third party smtp servers we are looking for alternative solutions.

We would be considered a third party mail provider.  People connect to the Internet however that can and use our mail service.

AOL & MSN are two major ISPs that will not allow users to connect our mail server.  There are a handful of people on AOL who are able

to connect to our SMTP.  I can not explain why.  If there is a doubt, I attempt a telnet connection to port 25.

Our users complain about the Imail web interface.  They don’t like it.  They want to use Outlook.

Does anyone have any recommendations on a solution to allow many users

connecting in various ways to be able to use Outlook?
